Other than that, the two companies welcomed the six-month adjustment period given by the Department of Information and Communications and Technology (DICT) to fully implement the service, according to a CNN Philippines story.
Implementing the new system abruptly, as per DICT, might cause crashes resulting to a serious damage to the industry and disturb the consumers.
In December last year, the DICT, as well as the Department of Trade and Industry, and the National Telecommunications Commission, agreed through a memorandum signed that prepaid loads in the country must have one-year validity regardless of the amount.
Earlier, prepaid loads lasts for three days for P10 or lower and P300 for up to four months.
There are 130-million cellphone users in the Philippines as of December 2016.
