- Dina Tenerife Celo, an OFW nanny in U.A.E. will receive a house and lot as a gift from her employers
- It was not easy for her at all though, for she also suffered maltreatment from her previous employer in Saudi Arabia
We often hear stories of our fellow Filipinos working abroad being maltreated by their employers. But there are also nice stories, stories of hope, inspiration, luck… and a combination of both bad and good experiences with a handful of luck describes the story of Dina Tenerife Celo.
Her life abroad had not been easy at all. Worse than homesickness, she was raped several times by her first employer in Saudi Arabia.
Due to her bad experience, she decided to go home to the Philippines.
However, financial struggles pushed her to work again oversea. Only this time, she was blessed to meet Melissa Dianne Larry McPike, her new employer in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Time passed and even after she left her job at Miss McPike, Dina kept in touch and maintained a good relationship with the latter’s family.
When she went back again to work for the McPikes, she was surprised by the kind family with a cash gift to purchase land on which to have her house built.
Last week, Dina went back home to her home in Sagnay, Camarines Sur and she was accompanied by her employer’s son “Said” to help her plan the would-be home.
Dina’s family gave Said the warm hospitality which is common in Filipino culture and the two immediately went on with the plan; excited for the new home.
Dina’s advice to fellow OFW’s who are currently suffering that there’s always hope and to keep their faith in God that in time, good things will come.
At present, frequent rains have delayed plans to start work on the house, but it is definitely underway. The lucky nanny will get her wish soon.
