Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa announced on Friday, January 12, that “Oplan Tokhang” will be relaunched this January as disclosed by ABS-CBN News.

After the suspension of the war on drugs due to scandals involving policemen who wrongly executed the campaign, the PNP Chief declared that the Oplan Tokhang will continue this month and vowed it to be “bloodless” this time.

“Bloodless naman talaga ang concept ng Oplan Tokhang. Ang ibig sabihin niyan ay to knock and plead, hindi patayan.” [The concept of “Oplan Tokhang” is really bloodless. It means “to knock and plead”, not k**l], the PNP Chief explained.

Chief de la Rosa assured the public that the “true spirit” of Oplan Tokhang, which is to “knock and plead”, will be strictly observed in the relaunch of the anti-drug campaign.

The PNP Chief also warned those police officers who will still be engaged in illegal activities, and told them to think twice before getting into trouble especially with their approved bigger salary pay.
