Starting Monday, January 8, 2018, the Department of Transportation with the help of Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (I-ACT), will implement the “Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok” campaign on major roads in Metro Manila.
The application of the campaign is in preparation of the initial enforcement of PUV Modernization Program of the country, in accordance to President Duterte’s mandate.
As per a story posted by GMA News, Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (i-ACT) Communications and Administrative Services Head Elmer Argano said that the campaign will be launched on three major highways in Metro Manila namely: EDSA, Commonwealth Avenue and Marcos Highway.
The Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (I-ACT) is composed of the Department of Transportation, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Land Transportation Office (LTO), Highway Patrol Group and the MMDA.
The implementation of the campaign will affect a lot of PUV drivers, and of course, the commuters for the meantime.
But in the long run, this would probably help end one of the country’s biggest problems on traffic management as well as help in pollution control.
