A four-year-old girl was killed when she was hit by a car after its driver dozed off behind the steering wheel.
Two others were injured in the incident that took place in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque on Tuesday evening, February 13.
As per the Inquirer, the driver, identified as 53-year-old Abraham Tria, was driving his Mitsubishi Lancer sedan along Quirino Avenue at about 8:00 p.m. when he dozed off while traversing north towards Barangay San Dionisio.
According to the spot report by the Southern Police District, Tria’s car crashed a street lamp post and hit the three victims who were in the area.
The girl, identified as Princess Merrielyn Marcelo, was rushed to the Ospital ng Parañaque, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Her remains were brought to Guevara Funeral Service.
The two other victims, identified as 8-year-old Nickie Josh Orosco and 28-year-old Jowena Siguisabal, 28, suffered injuries.
