President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Jose Arturo Garcia as officer-in-charge (OIC) general manager of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), as stated by the appointment papers released by Malacañang on Monday.
Duterte signed Garcia’s appointment on February 8, but released it to the media on Monday, February 12, according to The Inquirer.
Garcia was previously MMDA’s assistant general manager for planning.
He replaced Thomas Orbos, who is now an undersecretary at the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
During Garcia’s time as MMDA assistant general manager for planning, he commanded the implementation of policies such as the yellow lanes and the proposed high-occupancy vehicle lane.
