Beverly Caimen is living every J-Pop fan’s dream. From joining barangay singing competitions in Laguna, she is now a fast-rising star in Japan.
The singer shared with the hosts of Umagang Kay Ganda how her journey as a J-Pop star began. She said, she was under hitmaker Vehnee Saturno’s wing when she began. Saturno had a music business in Japan and Caimen was asked to perform in front of a Japanese music producer. The Pinay diva impressed them that she was signed to a Japanese record label, Avex Trax.
Her first song, “ I Need Your Love” became the hit theme song of the Japanese show, Crisis. More projects soon followed suit, including a solo show and her second album.
Caimen met President Duterte in Japan when she was asked to perform for the President’s banquet. Last November, Caimen joined other Filipino talents as they performed during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gala dinner.
Caimen was also in the country to join the Ishin-Denshin International Music Festival last February 10 to celebrate the camaraderie of Filipino and Japanese culture.
