On February 11, the newlywed couple, Maxene and Rob Mananquil, shared their cute love story on ‘Rated K’; a magazine show broadcast on ABS-CBN.

According to Max, she first saw Rob perform with his band, and since then she felt attracted to him.

“Sino to? Talagang I was intrigued. Parang siyang scene sa movie na may [Who’s this? I was really intrigued. It was like a scene in a movie with] spotlight with the music so beautifully playing and the way he plays his music, passionate,” she said.

On that same moment, Rob almost felt the same. He said he also noticed Maxine that time: “The night that I played. I saw her parang [like] movie, nag-slow mo [it went in slow motion.]”

Apparently their first meeting ended there.

It was only after eight months when Rob added Max on Facebook. Their communication began after she posted about her cravings for mangoes and spicy shrimp paste or ‘bagoong’.

She said in her post, “going home to indian mangoes and spicy bagoong after a long day of work is the best feeling in the world.”

Feeling delighted, he reacted to Maxene’s post after reminiscing his love for the mangoes and ‘bagoong’ while he was still studying in UP. “I love indian mango and bagoong when I was studying in UP,” he responded.

After two weeks of chatting online, Rob finally invited Max to have coffee with him.

Max admitted she bought three different outfits in preparation to their first date. She asked help from her siblings to pick the best one to wear.

According to Max, she stared at Rob for about five minutes during the actual date, then secretly texted her sister, ‘I think mahal ko na siya [I think I already love him.]”

Finally, Rob proposed to her in Tokyo during Valentine’s day and said, “Baby, I love you so much will you ride the rollercoaster of life with me?”

The couple got married last January 11 in Boracay.
