- Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV was declared persona non grata by Davao City officials
- Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said it has nothing to do with the President
- Sen. Trillanes alleged that Davao City has the highest incidence of murder and second highest in rape in 2015
Malacañang only had a few words about Davao City officials’ declaration of Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as a persona non grata.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque got candid and was quoted by GMA saying, “I do not know how you want me to react because this has nothing to do with the President and I speak for the President. Other than that, congratulations, Davao City.”
Sen. Trillanes, a staunch critic of the Duterte administration is now ‘banned’ in Davao City after he made comments about the city. The senator said that Davao allegedly had the the highest incidence of murder and second highest in rape in 2015.
“Unwanted and unwelcome,” Davao City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag said Trillanes’ comment was a big insult and he is no longer welcome in the city.
