The upcoming hard-core action movie “Buybust” directed by Erik Matti will soon be launched in the United States specifically in North American movie theaters.

The action-thriller about an anti-drug enforcement arrest will also be followed by a digital and home video release through Well Go USA Entertainment; the company that also brought the rights to distribute the hit zombie apocalypse “Train to Busan” internationally.

An earlier announcement that this film will debut on Philippine cinemas on February 28 was moved to a later date for this reason.

The highly-anticipated action-packed film produced by Viva Films and Reality Entertainment revolved around the lives of an elite anti-narcotics team in the Philippines who found themselves caught in one of the most dangerous slums in Manila.

Anne Curtis, who also starred in the 2014 international indie film “Blood Ransom“, came back with a blast for an action-thriller wherein she played one of the most challenging roles as a drug enforcement agent.

The 32-year-old actress, who will play as Nina Manigan, went on an intensive self-defense training such as learning Pekiti-Tirsia Kali, a Filipino martial arts that uses improvised weapons to fight enemies back. The actress-businesswoman revealed on January 21 that it took two years for them to finish shooting the film.

The film cast also includes Brandon Vera, a Fil-American Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) champion, Joross Gamboa, Mara Lopez, Nonie Buencamino, AJ Muhlach, and Victor Neri.

Well Go USA’s representative, Dylan Marchetti, commended Erik Matti’s BuyBust, and said that the multi-awarded director “has truly outdone himself”. The entertainment agency was also the one who internationally distributed Erik Matti’s ‘On the Job‘ in 2013
