Riding-in-tandem gunmen killed a former Agus Barangay Chairman Remegio “Bo” Oyao around 7 p.m. Sunday at Agus Road, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Oyao received several gunshot wounds in his body and was rushed to the Mactan Doctors Hospital, but doctors there declared him dead on arrival.
Chief Insp. Juan Capacio, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said the victim was with a companion in his Ford F-150 pickup truck on Agus Road.
Oyao got stuck in traffic and while he was waiting for the traffic to move, two facemask-wearing gunmen on a motorcycle suddenly stopped beside Oyao‘s vehicle.
The backrider shot multiple times at Oyao’s direction then sped away. The victim’s companion was not hurt in the attack.
Oyao was previously indicted for being involved in illegal drugs, but the cases against him were earlier dismissed.
