Filipina singer KZ Tandingan remains down to earth despite topping this week’s Singer 2018.
During her first interview after the win, Tandingan said being on top this week does not give her confidence nor does it make her complacent.
“Every week, the artists always try to push themselves and to always do something different so you can never tell what’s gonna happen and who’s gonna be on top; who’s gonna be first, second, or third,” she said.
She shared that her confidence comes from her family in the Philippines and from the talent that was lent to her by God.
“My confidence is coming from believing who I really am. So I came to China, I’m not even sure if anybody in China knows me before I came to China. But what I had with me were loads and loads of support from my family in the Philippines and the talent that was lent to me by someone of highs,” she expressed.
“[I’m] confident with my music and with myself. But with the results, you can never be complacent,” she added.
During the recent Singer 2018 episode, the Philippine pride beat Jessie J with her jazzy rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”.
If you have not watched it yet, here’s a vid of Tandingan’s performance:
