QUEZON CITY — A woman is expected to face criminal charges after hitting and berating a traffic enforcer who apprehended her and the driver of a motorcycle twice for not wearing a helmet.

According to GMA News, the enforcer have already apprehended the woman and her motorcycle rider boyfriend in Road 3 which is only a few meters away from Visayas Avenue where the heated argument took place. The woman was not wearing the helmet on her side as she apparently put some food in it.

MMDA Task Force Kapit Bisig head Bong Nebrija said the agency is going to file complaints like slight physical injuries and crime against persons in authority and their agents against the woman aside from the Php1.5-thousand penalty for violating the No Crash Helmet Policy.

“This is not about public shaming,” he said; referring to the video of the confrontation that went viral. “Sinasabi pinaglagyan ng ulam, complete disregard of the law, tiniketan ka na dadaan ka pa sa harap ng mga enforcers natin para ipakita na hindi mo sinusunod ang batas.”

[She said it’s where she placed the food, this is a complete disregard of the law as she was already given a ticket, then she passes in front of enforcers to blatantly show she’s not willing to follow the law.]

The agency expressed willingness to show the video camera where the whole incident was recorded to prove the enforcer did not insult the woman.

Traffic constable Mandy Cabana said, “Wala pong nangyaring ganon, naka-body cam po ako… lahat naka-record, lahat ng pangyayari.”

[That didn’t happen, I have a body cam… everything’s recorded, the whole incident.]

MMDA denied uploading the confrontation video online and that it’s not the video from the body camera.
