Two students are fighting for their lives after a gunman opened fire in the hallway of a high school in USA Tuesday, before being shot by the campus policeman, authorities said.

Great Mills High School is on lockdown after the shooting was “contained” when a school resource officer “engaged” the gunman, St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron told NBC Washington.

Mollie Davis who appears to be a student at the school, tweeted:  “I am in Great Mills HS. My school is on a very real lockdown threat and there’s already someone possibly d**d. Please pray for us.”

“You never think it’ll be your school and then it is. Great Mills is a wonderful school and somewhere I am proud to go. Why us?” she added later.

The incident happened just over a month after 17 students were k****d by a gunman at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, reigniting the national debate on gun control.
