The 35-year-old player remains very optimistic; he extended his gratitude to his supporters through a social media post
On Saturday, March 10, Jean Marc Pingris Jr. got injured during his team Magnolia Hotshots’ fight with NLEX Road Warriors.
The 6’4″ veteran basketball player got hurt badly during the last few minutes of their game. Their team lost the close fight with an 88-87 score. It is the team’s first game in the best-of-7 semifinal series for the PBA Philippine Cup.
His team governor, Rene Pardo confirmed that the 35-year old player will be out of this year’s series because his test results confirmed that he is suffering from an ACL injury on his knee. This means that a ligament on his knee, which gives stability and is crucial for basket players, was torn.
Pardo also said that the former Gilas Pilipinas player will undergo surgery this week.
How is Marc coping up with his situation? His wife, Danica Sotto-Pingris gave an update on her Instagram post. She especially thanked everyone who extended their support to her husband.
Danica also shared how she felt upon learning about her husband’s ballgame accident. She quite panicked and got really scared.
However, she was so blessed that Marc remained very optimistic despite of what happened. Pingris even encouraged her by saying that he is okay and that God has a plan.
The celebrity mom revealed that Marc was even able to pull off a joke when they met at the hospital.
On Tuesday, March 12, Marc posted a thank you message for his supporters: “Salamat pala sa lahat ng nag dasal para sa family ko mapa players, fans, coach, friends salamat sa lahat lord salamat at di mo kami pinabayaan kahit may pinag dadaanan kami ngayon di kami bibitaw alam ko may plano ka para sa akin.”
[Thank you everyone who prayed for my family, co-playes, fans, coach, friends. Thank you for everything Lord. Thank you because you did not forsake me even if we are experiencing a trial now, we won’t let go. I know You have a plan for me.]
