  • Common or white taxis are at risk of being completely banned at Manila airports
  • The decision was based upon numerous complaints of airport passengers regarding contracting taxi drivers
  • White taxis will be totally prohibited from entering NAIA once another complaint arises

Common or white taxis are at risk of being completely banned at Manila airports.

This is due to the numerous complaints of airport passengers regarding ‘contracting’ taxi drivers, a practice which is strictly prohibited by the authorities.

According to Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal, he has already given an ultimatum to taxi drivers at the airport if ever he receive more complaints about the same issue.

Monreal also said that the ‘naughty’ taxi drivers’ action is an embarrassment not only on their side but to the image of the Philippines, as well.

Just recently, Wil Dasovich’s sister, Haley, had an unpleasant experience with a ‘contracting’ taxi driver;  a video of which she posted on YouTube.

Haley shared she noticed the taxi meter has not been turned on, and the driver said he will be charging her a fixed rate of Php500.

The video went viral; prompting netizens to share their own experiences with erring “kontrata” taxi drivers.
