Timely arrival of fire trucks prevented spread of fire in Iligan village

A fire of still undetermined origin burned about 15 houses in Zone 9 Barangay Bagong Silang on Thursday; some 2 kilometers northeast of the city center.

Iligan fire marshall Chief Inspector Butch Baulete said four of the 15 houses were partially damaged.  The estimated damage is P400,000.  The cause is still under investigation.

There were no casualties or injuries, said Baulete.  Some 10 firetrucks from different fire stations responded to the call that reached a 2nd alarm status by 8:50 am.

The 10 fire trucks were coordinated by Task Force Alpha under its ground commander Baulete that led to the prevention of the fire spreading to other houses.

“The fire that started at around 8:15 am was placed under control by 9:25 am and put out by 9;33 am,” said Baulete.

Fire stations as far as the towns of Lugait in Misamis Oriental and Kauswagan in Lanao del Norte responded to the call.  The private sector Adventist and Gaisano fire stations responded too.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) attributes the rapid termination of the fire to the early arrival of the fire trucks.

Good job!
