The award-winning actor, Ian Veneracion, revealed that he is not actually nervous about performing on stage as a singer and musician but he is quite doubtful whether people will patronize it.
The film and television actor said, “I’m comfortable with the performance. I cannot blame some people who are skeptical.” He added that he understands that some have the mentality that perhaps he is just another actor who’s pretending to be a singer.
He reassured those who are willing to watch him perform that he will give them several beautiful songs and that if they attend the concert they will certainly have a good time.
He was recently given the opportunity to do his first-ever solo concert series. He will be performing at Grand Pacific Ballroom, Waterfront Hotel in Cebu this April 21 and at the Resorts World Manila on May 3. The actor, although not known to many, is also a talented musician and singer, and said that he is excited to perform with his band.
Ian recounted that his confidence in performing in public got honed when he worked in the TV drama series “A Love to Last”. He shared that during the tapings of the drama series with Bea Alonzo, he would play on the piano and sing.
The 43-year-old actor told PUSH that during that time his leading lady Bea would tease him and make fun of him while he was playing songs.
He also revealed that he will be doing song covers of Joe Cocker, Cat Stevens, Christopher Cross, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Sting. LA Santos, a Star Music artist, will be one of his special guests in his upcoming singing event produced by Dreamwings Production Inc.
