- PDEA disclosed that they will soon announce the barangay officials included on President Duterte’s drug list
- According to PDEA Dir. Aquino, there is a total of 216 names; however, only 211 have been validated and confirmed
- DILG will file charges against those barangay officials who served as drug protectors
On Wednesday, April 25, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) disclosed that it is aiming to reveal this week the names of barangay officials in the “narco list” of President Rodrigo Duterte.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino, through DZMM, said he has received a “go signal” to publish the list of barangay officials involved in illegal drugs. In addition, Aquino also claimed that the list, which includes 211 barangay officials across the country, has been validated and evidences has been collected in support of their claim.
Aquino clarified that originally there were 216 names on the narco list; however, 5 individuals are yet to be confirmed.
He also mentioned that most of the officials on the list are believed to be drug protectors.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said they will file charges against the barangay officials who were involved in illegal drugs.
