Three Reuters journalists were awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting. Clare Baldwin, Andrew R.C. Marshall, and a Filipino journalist, Manuel Mogato’s series called “Duterte’s War” was recognized by the award-winning body.
The Pulitzer, the most prestigious awards in American journalism honored the Reuters journalists “for relentless reporting that exposed the brutal killing campaign behind Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs.”
Reuters Editor-in-Chief Stephen J. Adler is proud of their achievement. He stated on their website, “In a year in which many Pulitzers were rightly devoted to U.S. domestic matters, we’re proud at Reuters to shine a light on global issues of profound concern and importance, demonstrated how police in the president’s ‘drug war’ have killed with impunity and consistently been shielded from prosecution.”
