On camera, a toddler and his uncle were shot to death in Chicago on February 14 during a daytime incident.
Unknown gunmen opened fire on the victims while they were streaming on Facebook Live inside a car on the city's West Side, according to the police.
Lavontay White Jr., who was 2 years old, and his unnamed uncle were named as the fatalities. Both of the murdered victims had gunshot wounds.
The uncle's 20-year-old pregnant girlfriend was filming the incident and was also injured, although she is now apparently recovering in a hospital. Despite being shot in the abdomen, the baby is likely to make it.
The 26-year-old uncle of the youngster, who is known to be in a local gang, is thought to have been the intended victim of the murder.
The group can be seen singing inside their car before a barrage of gunshots breaks out in the social media video. Both the boy and the adult perished there.
The woman succeeded in exiting the vehicle. Woman can be seen running and yelling for assistance.
“Momma! I got a bullet in my stomach! Please! Please! I can’t breathe!”She cried.
The Chicago police issued a statement in which they both lashed out at the lawmakers for their "inaction" in the face of gun violence and condemned the murder.
“This has got to stop somewhere. Our children should not have to pay the price for our inability to hold repeat gun offenders responsible for their actions,”according to Superintendent Eddie Johnson of the Chicago Police Department.
The police claimed that they are currently looking for the murderers.
“We have very promising leads. We have video. There’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll find him,”Johnson added.
Lavontay White Jr. is the third kid in Chicago to lose a gun battle in a week.
