If you’re into big water slides rides, Verrückt (German for insane) is the one for you. It is going to be the world’s tallest (and fastest) water slide once it is completed in May of this year.
Verrückt is taller than Niagara Falls and is equivalent to 17 stories high, higher by three stories compared to Insano – the current world-record-holding slide in Brazil.
Soon-to-be -world’s-tallest slide can be found at Schlitterbahn water park in Kansas City, USA, and slated to formally open in summer. The company is looking forward to it being a destination attraction.
It could take a while to climb the 264 steps to the top of the new water slide at Schlitterbahn, but it won’t take that long to get back down at 65 mph or so.
Layne Pitcher, the park’s director of marketing and sales says, “We have always been family friendly, but this will attract those adrenaline junkies who are always looking for that next biggest, coolest thrill.”
Rather than individual riders hurtling to the bottom, four-person inflatable rafts will be used per ride; catering to lines that “it’s more fun if someone is screaming in your ear.”
