DUBAI, UAE – The body of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was found hanging from the ceiling of his workplace at Fujairah International Airport, Gulf News reported.
The Filipino, identified only as J.D.N. by Brigadier Mohammad Ahmad Bin Ganem Al Ka’abi, commander-in-chief of the Fujairah Police, is believed to be in his 30s, and was an employee of the airport.
He was working as crew at service division of the food distribution section, the police official said in a statement.
The Fujairah police said it was a case of suicide and has ruled out foul play in the investigation. They also said the cause could be problems or disputes with the victim’s family.
Brigadier Al Ka’abi said ambulance and forensic and laboratory technicians immediately rushed to the scene after being notified of the incident.
But the man was pronounced dead before help could reach the area.
Colleagues in the workplace described the victim as a “nice” person, and his death was a shock to everyone who knew him, especially those who found him hanging from the ceiling.
The body was already transferred to Al Fujairah Hospital where an autopsy will be conducted and to complete necessary legal procedures, Al Ka’abi added.
