Roxanne Cabañero Acosta, one of the contestants in the Ms. Bikini Philippines Pageant in 2010, accused actor-television host Vhong Navarro of rape on the night of April 24, 2010.
Acosta said that she finally mustered enough courage to come out and make public the alleged rape committed by Navarro against her because she was inspired by Deniece Cornejo, who also accused the actor of rape on January 22.
Acosta claimed that he met the actor on April 24, 2010 when she and other pageant contestants visited the “It’s Showtime” noontime variety show, where Navarro was one of the show’s hosts, to promote the beauty contest.
She alleged that Navarro asked for her phone number through a female staff of the show. Navarro, Acosta said, sent text messages to her throughout the day.
That night, the actor allegedly invited her out for a coffee but the television host sexually assaulted her inside his car at about 12 midnight.
Actress Bianca Lapus, Vhong Navarro’s former wife, noted inconsistencies in Acosta’s statement.
Lapus noted that on April 24, 2010, her former husband was in Kawit, Cavite as a special guest performer in Vice Ganda’s concert in Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park. The show started at 8 p.m.
The actress posted in her Instagram account a poster of Vice Ganda’s concert and a tweet from Kean Cipriano, also a guest performer in Ganda’s concert.
The concert poster showed Vhong Navarro’s name, as a guest performer, the date and the time of the concert.
Kean Cipriano’s tweet says, “just got home from island cove. congrats VICE GANDA and Vhong. you guys are the best!”
His tweet also showed the date and time he posted the message, 2:20 AM – 25 Apr 2010
Bianca Lapus’ Instagram post has the following caption: “Need I say more? April 24, 2010 8pm onwards Island Cove Cavite.”
