Escudero, Evangelista to Marry Before 2016 Elections

In an interview with ABS-CBN’s Willard Cheng, Senator Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero said that he is more concerned with getting married than to think about his plan for 2016. Escudero, who was accompanied by girlfriend Heart Evangelista, said that 2016 is too far away to begin planning for it.

“Magpapakasal, oo. Gusto ko kasi mabuo ang pamilya ko… syempre kasabay ng, literally and figuratively, pagtanda. Actually, mas malapit ‘yan sa tingin ko kaysa pagtakbo sa election sa 2016. Kaya nga nananahimik ako, nadadamay pa ako. Tama na muna. Personal munang buhay bago pulitika, (Marriage, yes. I want my family to be whole, because that is part of growing old, literally and figuratively. Actually, I think that that it is more imminent rather than running in 2016. That is why I am being quiet, but I always seem to get dragged. I think it’s enough. My personal life should come first before politics)”, Escudero said.

The senator also said that he has nothing to declare regarding the 2016 elections.

However, when asked about wedding details, Escudero clarified that there is no date yet and that he has yet to propose to Evangelista, but that they have been talking about getting married.

Evangelista then said that they are not in a hurry but that she is certain that Escudero is the one.

“I guess with my relationship with him, I feel very certain about it. I’ve never felt this certain about anything in my life, for sure,” the actress said.

When asked what her dream wedding is, Evangelista replied that she just wants a simple wedding.

The relationship of Escudero and Evangelista is probably one of the most open to the media and the public eye, especially when the latter’s parents openly accused the senator of brainwashing their daughter and that he is an abusive boyfriend.

Evangelista shared that things are still not okay between her and her parents and that if she does get married, she is already expecting them to not attend.

“Even with my past relationships, it was very clear to me that they weren’t really going to be there on my wedding day. So not that it’s very serious, I don’t really think that they will be there,” Evangelista said.

It has been a year since the rift between her and her parents happened, but Evangelista is still hoping that they will reconcile soon.

The couple also shared that they will have a vacation in Paris on June.
