Lower House Approves Naturalization Bill for Andray Blatche

The House of Representative’s committee on justice approved the House Bill aiming to naturalize the NBA star center Andray Blatche.

The approval of House Bill 3783 is a step closer to the naturalization Brooklyn Nets’ big man but it will take some time before Blatche could earn a Filipino citizenship that will allow him to suit up for Gilas, the country’s national basketball team.

With the naturalization proposal for Blatche finally approved, the bill’s author Antipolo Rep. Robbie Puno withdrew the similar bill aiming to lure Javale McGee due to health issues.

The 6′ 11″ Denver Nuggets center suffered a fractured tibia after playing for only five games early this season. No definite timetable was given upon his recovery and return.

Meanwhile, as of this writing, the 27-year-old Blatche played 52 games this season, averaging 11.8 points and 5.7 rebounds.
