After his triumph on Saturday evening, eight-time division boxing champion Manny Pacquiao quickly dismissed any notion of a third fight against American boxer Timothy Bradley, Jr.
“Wala na [No more],” Pacquiao said.
The Filipino boxing superstar said the fans seemed satisfied in their performance and its outcome. Initially, Pacman thinks the Pacquiao-Bradley 2 fight already served as a “final answer” to questions and speculations which arose during their first duel.
He added fight fans may lose their interest should the third bout materializes.
“Wala nang manonood. Dalawang beses na eh,” the 35-yar old fighting congressman added.
[Nobody will watch us. We had been slugging each twice.]
The General Santos-native southpaw fighter even thought Bradley’s fighting style was a ‘turn off’ for a lot of boxing fans, especially for the 15,601 patrons inside the MGM Grand.
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach also said a third fight wouldn’t be necessary.
“I don’t think it’s necessary. People were entertained last Saturday but I don’t think they back to watch a third fight,” Roach said.
But in case the third bout happens, Pacquiao vows a knock-out triumph.
“Baka pag may pangatlo pa, babagsak na siya,” said Pacquiao.
[In case of a third fight, he might go down the canvass.]
Manny Pacquiao, then-the challenger for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight championship belt, defeated Timothy ‘Desert Storm’ Bradley via unanimous decision at the main event of the boxing slugfest titled “Pacquiao-Bradley 2: Vindication” on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Aside from the title-reclaiming victory, Pacquiao went successful in avenging his controversial defeat to the ‘Desert Storm’-nicknamed boxer in June 2012.
In the related news, talks about another possible clash between Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez will most likely happen.
According to Bob Arum, the Pacquiao-Marquez 5 might take place in case the latter wins against Mike Alvarado next month.
Roach also confirmed the possible arrangement of Pacman’s next bout.
“What’s next for Manny? I imagine it could be Marquez for a fifth fight late this year. That’s if Marquez beats Mike Alvarado on May 17,” the trainer said.
