MANILA, Philippines – The grand night of the ABS-CBN reality show “Pinoy Big Brother All In” is a moment to remember for Brazilian-Japanese model and actor Daniel Matsunaga after being named the Big Winner.
Daniel, who bested 18 other contestants came out of the stage teary-eyed, after being declared the grand winner winner of the reality show which held its finale night on Sunday, August 24 at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
“This is an amazing experience. I am a true Filipino, and I’m very proud to say that dahil sa pag-ibig ninyo sa akin dito ( I’m proud to say that this is all because of your love for me),” the Brazilian-Japanese model said.
He added: “I’m thankful first to God who gave me this opportunity. One day, sinabi Niya sa akin na I have a purpose dito sa Pilipinas. And I guess this purpose is today. Mahal na mahal ko kayo. Thank you for all the love (One day God told me I have a purpose here in the Philippines. I love you all.).”
The hunk actor has no Filipino lineage, yet, he considers himself as a Filipino by heart for loving the Pinoy tradition and culture, the food, the places, and the people. He ventured into modelling first in 2009 before he entered show business. He entered the PBB house on Day 21 of the reality show.
In this season’s Pinoy Big Brother, viewers voted for the housemate who they want to save and the housemate they want to evict. The difference of the two was further computed to determine the housemate’s ranking.
Daniel won the title after he bagged the highest net vote of 11.69 percent, receiving 18.52 percent votes to save and -6.83 percent votes to evict.
Daniel took home P1 million cash, franchising business package, a condo unit, among others.
Occupying the second place was sixteen-year-old Maris Racal who garnered 3.1 percent net votes.
Placing third was Star Magic talent Jane Oineza with -0.73 percent net votes (19.93 percent votes to save, -20.66 votes to evict) while Vickie Rushton placed fourth with a total of -0.78 percent net votes (4.57 percent votes to save, -5.53 percent votes to evict).
The 25-year-old Daniel was one of the celebrity housemates. He is an occasional actor who has starred in shows on GMA-7 and TV5. He likewise appeared in Star Cinema movies such as “She’s The One” and “Sisterakas.”
