MANILA, Philippines- After actress Heart Evangelista, TV personality Cesca Litton, and Balesin Club owner Roberto “Bobby” Ongpin made their statements about the wedding bump-off controversy, Cesca Litton’s fiance, Tyke Kalaw has finally aired his side.
In the Instagram post of user Cheklit, Kalaw wrote:
“Let me give you an answer since you are so involved with other people’s lives. We asked to reserve Balesin for Feb. 14 back in May, and that is already considered pencil booking. We tried to make a downpayment to reserve the entire Balesin village for this occasion. We’ve been trying to since May. Balesin did not let us because Mr. Ongpin did not approve it yet. They said everything is a go, pending Mr. Ongpin’s approval and that he was already informed that we wanted to reserve the date. I was furious on Saturday when I found out the reason we were disapproved. The reason they gave me was because Chiz and Heart called Mr. Ongpin wanting the same date for the wedding. I’m assuming, even hoping, that the couple did not know that was our date even if they were informed by someone they tried to hire that’s already doing our wedding. They knew Ongpin and we did not. That is what it came down to. Now address me and stop bugging my fiance so we can plan our amazing wedding.”
On August 31, make-up artist Ria Gamboa revealed in her Facebook post that a celebrity-politican couple reportedly bumped off the wedding of her friend in Balesin Island Club in Quezon Province set on February 14, 2015.
Although the names of the couple were not mentioned, netizens speculated it was Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and celebrity Heart Evangelista, who recently got engaged last August 23.
This was later on confirmed by Litton through her statement that was read on the September 2 episode of “Aquino and Abunda Tonight”. On the other hand, Evangelista and Escudero denied Litton’s allegations.
Heart-Chiz Wedding on February 15?
Meanwhile, the Philippine Star reported that the much-awaited wedding of Sen. Escudero and Evangelista has been moved to February 15. The source, who is privy with the people involved in the politician-celebrity’s wedding preparations, clarified that the choice of date for the couple’s wedding was not influenced by the wedding bump-off issue.
“They wanted to get married on 15-15 (15th day of February 2015), patterned from Escudero’s birthday which happens to be 10-10 (October 10).”
