“Hinatulan ka na, kinukutya ka pa” – Binay

Vice president Jejomar Binay accused the Senate sub-committee of being unfair, saying the senators in the panel have appeared to be pre-judging him and his family, reports InterAksyon.

The vice president also lamented how the senators did not just stop at simply prejudging the Binay family. The report quoted Binay as saying, “Hinatulan ka na, nilalalit ka pa, tinatakot, kinukutya ka pa (Aside from being pre-judged, we are also being ridiculed, frightened, and taunted).

He said the separate probes being done by the senate and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are a violation of his civil rights, reports Rappler.  The vice president also lambasted his critics, especially Senator Antonio Trillanes IV who was the first to reveal the alleged anomalies surrounding the Makati parking building before the senate.

Electoral sabotage?

Critics are afraid of prosecution under my presidency,” Binay claimed.  According to him, these critics are just afraid he will reveal what he knows about their ‘misdeeds and abuse of power’.  Thus, they are trying to sabotage his chances of winning in the 2016 elections.

He also thinks these people have their personal political ambitions for the upcoming elections, so they are trying to ruin his name.

In a report on Tempo, Trillanes said he hopes that Binay will not win in 2016 to ‘spare Filipinos from being led by a man whose integrity is highly suspect’.  The reason for this ‘prayer’ is that he believes the vice president’s continued refusal to submit himself to the senate probe signifies his guilt.

Role played by Tiu

Binay is also insisted he does not own the so-called ‘Hacienda Binay’ and does not personally know businessman Antonio Tiu, the true owner.  Although Bstarted Agri-Fortuna as a piggery business, Binay claimed that in 2010 he already divested interest after winning as vice president.

Tiu became involved in the investigation after Makati ex-vice mayor Ernesto Mercado tagged him as dummy owner of Sunchamp estate in Rosario, Batangas which is now being called as ‘Hacienda Binay’.

In a report on InterAksyon, Tiu laments how this caused a huge loss to his business, despite him having no real ties with Binay.
