Maya (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Sir Chief (Richard Yap) quickly became household names when the pilot episode of ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ aired last July 9, 2012. Their experimental and unlikely tandem gained so much popularity that what was supposed to be a one season show began to extend and even had mall tours and out of the country trips.
After more than two years, this much loved ‘kilig-serye’, along with its endearing cast, had to bid good bye to its loyal viewers.
On its last episode aired on November 28, Maya and Sir Chief went on a trip to Vigan, Ilocos Sur and during one of their moments there, the beautiful couple began to reminisce their earlier encounters. It was then that Sir Chief admitted that the first time he told Maya that he loves her was intentional and not an accident. He blurted out “I love you” to know how Maya feels about him. Also, he recalled that he kissed his phone upon receiving a photo of Maya during his son’s prom.
Sir Chief thanked Maya for coming into his life. He told her that they would have eventually met in another place had they missed each other during their first encounter. He believes that they were destined to meet each other and are meant for each other saying that no matter what happens, their paths will always cross.
After their trip to Vigan, Sir Chief surprised Maya on her 30th birthday where all the people who played important roles in their love journey were once again gathered to celebrate with them.
Maya then received good words from people close to her heart. Kute (Aize Seguerra), Nanay Teresita (Sylvia Sanchez), Abby (Mutya Orquia) and of course, Sir Chief gave their emotional and heartwarming messages to the celebrant.
Maya then thanked everyone who came to celebrate with them. She said that after the party, it will take a long time for them to be gathered again. She assures everyone though, that even if they do not see each other as often, they will always be in her heart. She once again thanked everyone for being a part of her family and she believes that their happy memories will always bring a smile on their hearts.
The party concluded with their emotional singing of “Kabit Bisig”.
A live television special hosted by Toni Gonzaga was also aired last Friday wherein the cast of this hit serye was given a chance to say good bye live.
Jodi Sta. Maria once again thanked everyone who watched and supported ‘Be Careful With My Heart’. She stated that, “kung naging inspirasyon kami sa inyo, naging inspirasyon din kayo sa amin. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyo and God bless you all.”
(If we became your inspiration, all of you also became ours. Thank you very much and God Bless you all.)
Richard Yap then states that, “This is not goodbye, this is the beginning of something new and something better. Who knows, baka magkita-kita kami ulit, so we will see you soon. Hindi goodbye.”
(This is not goodbye, this is the beginning of something new and something better. Who knows, we might see each other again, so we will see you soon. Not goodbye.)
