Container van falls on jeepney in QC, leaves 3 injured

QUEZON CITY — A 40-footer container van broke off a tractor head and fell on a jeepney beside it on Quirino Highway in Quezon City Saturday afternoon which left three people injured by the unexpected incident.

According to Manny Callego of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction  and Management Council,  the accident happened on the corner of Tandang Sora and Quirino Highway.

As the trailer truck was making its turn towards Tandang Sora, the driver lost control of the van; causing the container to fall on its side, which led to the breaking off of the tractor head and eventually falling on the jeepney which was reported to have plate number PXE 134.

As reported on Inquirer, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA)  have disclosed that three passengers had sustained minor injuries when the container crashed into the bumper of the jeepney.

The driver of the truck with plate number RGU 788, reports say, have fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Meanwhile, those who were injured were immediately taken to the nearest hospital.
