In May, the most anticipated ‘Fight of the Century’ will be Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr.’s first clash after a lot of delays and bickering on air.

Aside from his rigorous training sessions, the Pambansang Kamao made time from his busy schedule to record a song that he will be using for his upcoming fight. This song, titled Lalaban Ako Para Sa Pilipino (I am going to Fight for the Filipinos), may probably be Manny Pacquiao’s secret weapon against his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquaio’s new single was written by Lito Camo, the same composer behind Para Sa’yo Ang Laban Na ‘To (This Fight is For You), another Pacman hit.

Camo, when asked behind the inspiration of his composed song, said that “Kahit saan ka nanggaling, kung ikaw man ay mahirap o mababa ang pinanggalingan, hindi ‘yun hadlang para magbigay ka ng inspirasyon sa bawat Pilipino at makapagbigay ka ng karangalan sa buong mundo, katulad ni Manny.”

(Wherever you come from, be it from poverty or low status in life; that is not a hindrance to inspire every Filipino and for you to give pride to the whole world, just like Manny.) Manny even actively gave suggestions before the recording started.

On another note, Team Pacquiao announced that they already have prepared a strategy to use in the biggest fight of Pacman’s boxing career. Manny’s assistant coach, Buboy Fernandez, said that Manny is already training very hard here in the Philippines, and he will work twice as hard when he arrives in the U.S. He also added that in the U.S., there will be no excuses and distractions.

Fernandez went on confidently with his message for Mayweather: “Tumakbo ka hanggang gusto mo. Gagawin namin lahat para mahabol ka.” (Run as you wish. We will do everything to catch you.)

Filipinos will wait with bated breath, as this fight is not only Manny’s fight but a fight that will bring honor to the Philippines.
