“Based on the information we have, she (Poe) has made her decision to run for president with Sen. Chiz as her vice president and they’re going at it as independents so that’s their plan and we’ll just wait for a formal announcement which they will make probably in September,” said Trillanes.

However, Poe remains mum on Trillanes’ statement.

Meanwhile, Senator Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero has earlier admitted that he is considering the possibility to run for a higher post.

In an Inquirer interview dated June 3, 2015, Escudero said: “Kung sakali magkokonsidera ako na tumakbo ng mas mataas na pwesto, siguro bise…” (In case I consider running for a higher post, maybe I’ll run for vice president.)

The senator also confirmed that he has been talking with Poe about the possible team up. However, Poe said she has yet to decide if she would run for a higher post next year. Escudero, in addition, said the Liberal Party has not yet offered him to become Interior Secretary Mar Roxas’ running mate.

“Walang ganung pag-uusap kaugnay sa 2016 election at walang alok.” (There is no such discussion about the 2016 election and there’s no offer.)

Trillanes, on the other hand, has declared his intention to run as vice president, even if it means going against his own party mate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano. He said he would still pursue his vice presidential bid with or without the support of his group, Nacionalista Party (NP).

“Yes. That’s who we are. I was never afraid of losing,” he said.
