Young fashionista, guitarist turns 3-chairs on “The Voice Kids”

MANILA –Two kids in an episode of “The Voice Kids Philippines” last Sunday made all three coaches turn their chairs during the blind auditions.

With Ed Sheeran’s hit song “Thinking Out Loud”, Gian Ale, 9, who was also playing the guitar made all three coaches turn, ABS-CBN reported.

Lea Salonga said, “Masarap lang ‘yung tapon mo eh, parang steady lang, very cool, hindi trying hard. Alam mo kung sino ka bilang artist.” (The way you sing was smooth, steady, very cool and not trying hard. You know who you are as an artist.)

Sarah Geronimo added that Ale can do ballad, can sing as if telling a story and hit the high notes.

Bamboo Mañalac, on the other hand, joked Geronimo that he was describing him. He added that the boy from Tagbilaran City was exactly like him who also plays guitar.

Meanwhile, Ataska Mercado, a teenager who is into fashion and a daughter of a fashion designer, performed “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit. Just after a few lines, all coaches turned for her, as seen in the YouTube Video of her blind audition.

Lea Salonga said that Ataska was worth listening.

“Nakaka-amaze ka. You’re a star. The way you look, talagang perfect,” Sarah Geronimo added. (You are amazing. You’re a star. The way you look, just perfect.)

Bamboo said that the young girl was what he needed in his team. Bamboo loved the joy Ataska brought as well as the infectious energy with it when she sang. “I just want to dance, sing my heart out. I like that. It’s gonna be fun on my team,” Bamboo added.

Ultimately, Ale chose to be a member of Team Sarah while Mercado picked Kamp Kawayan. As of writing, Team Sarah has Zephanie Dimaranan, Kyle Echarri and Gian Ale while Team Lea has Reynan Dal-Anay and Bianca Marbella. Meanwhile, Kamp Kawayan has Romeo Espino and Ataska Mercado.
