The famous celebrity dachshund Crusoe, together with his brother, was featured again in a new video — this time, dressed in an adorable minion costume.
As shared by Bored Panda, the costumes were made by owners Ryan and Lauren Beauchesne.
“When I was a child, I dressed up the family dog and took pictures for a fun little hobby,” Ryan said in a report by Daily Mail. “The costumes are a labour of love. I’ve always been fairly useful with my hands.”
In the video, Crusoe plays fetch game with his half brother Oakley while dressed in minion costumes. Minions are the characters from the 2010 movie Despicable Me and they will be on the big screen again this July in the movie Minions; a prequel/spin-off to the Despicable Me franchise.
Crusoe became famous after he was featured on television for winning “best trick” at an annual wiener dog event.
“My friends think it’s a little eccentric. They make fun of me, but I don’t really care,” said Ryan, the writer and creator of celebritydachshund.com; adding that Crusoe enjoys his dressing up adventures.
“Crusoe definitely doesn’t mind dressing up. Since he was a puppy he’s been wearing jackets and coats for the cold. Since I started the blog, dressing up and doing photo shoots has become second nature for him,” he shared. “We always make sure to make it a fun and positive experience. Crusoe is very much like our own child. We even took him on vacation with us to the Bahamas last year. We definitely believe in living fun, meaningful relationships with dogs where they’re real members of the family – not just pets.”
Meanwhile, Laughing Squid reported that Ryan has a new book titled Adventures of the Wiener Dog Extraordinaire. The book, which follows the many adventures of Crusoe, is available for purchase online from Amazon and iTunes.
