- Lady reporter in love with basketball player asked him out on live television
- Has fallen for him since the day they first met
- A new love team is born: “RomYu”
He’s got the moves on and off the court.
Terrence Romeo, the flashy Gilas Pilipinas guard who has won a new legion of fans in Taiwan due to his crazy crossovers and point-blank shooting, has also won the heart of Taiwanese courtside reporter Jenny Yu —so much so that she decided to throw a trey of her own at the Pinoy hoops player, the Philippine Star has reported.
At the end of Gilas’ heart-racing 92-88 come-from-behind win over New Zealand in the 37th William Jones Cup, the VL Sports reporter picked out Romeo as her interviewee even though he sat out of the game due to a bad ankle.
While the interview —which was clearly audible inside Xinhuang Stadium and broadcast on the big screen— went off the usual way at the start, Yu dropped a bombshell on Romeo by asking him a very personal question.
“Last question, can I be your Juliet?” she asked the basketball player.
As can be seen in the video, a clearly unprepared Romeo was left speechless and blushing at the question.
Instead of answering her proposal, he did thank fans for supporting the Philippine team.
“Keep supporting Gilas Pilipinas,” he said, before leaving the stadium.
Later on, Yu posted a picture of herself and Romeo on her social media account, spurring hordes of Filipino and Taiwanese fans to flock to her site and dub the new love team “RomYu.”
It was also discovered she had fallen for the flashy basketball player after she first interviewed him following the Philippines’ win against her home team Taiwan during the second day of the Jones Cup tournament.
