  • MMFF Entry ‘Walang Forever’ teaser reaches viral status with over 3 million views
  • The film stars Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales
  • Jericho replaced the original leading man, JM De Guzman

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) season is just around the corner and this year’s pool of movies have started hooking moviegoers through teaser videos.

One of the entries, ‘Walang Forever’ (‘There is no forever’),  is proving to be a crowd favorite with its trailer having been viewed via Facebook more than 3 million times as of posting.

The clip lasting only a little over a minute and half, which showed the starring tandem of Jennylyn Mercado and Jericho Rosales, may not have entirely revealed the plot but effectively gave the audience an idea about the two main characters’ standpoint on the movie’s core question: “Naniniwala ka ba sa forever?” (“Do you believe in forever?”)

Jennylyn appeared to be the typical optimistic girl who is convinced that forever exists. Jericho, on the other hand, seems to be the more playful kind and argues that there is no such thing as forever.

Aside from the duo’s encounter at what seems like a coffee shop, the trailer also shows ordinary Filipino citizens and some personalities, like Carlo Aquino and Director Cathy Garcia-Molina, sharing their opinions about the existence of forever.

The creative team of this romantic comedy presentation is headed by recent box-office royalties, Dan Villegas and Antoinette Jadaone.

Although Jericho is only the replacement of the original leading man, JM De Guzman, comments from online users show that there is just as much interest in watching how the chemistry works out between Jericho and Jennylyn.

Other entries that have released teasers are ‘Nilalang’ (‘Creature’) starring Cesar Montano and Maria Ozawa and ‘My Bebe Love #Kilig Pa More’ headlined by Vic Sotto and Ai-ai  de las Alas that also features the breakout ‘AlDub’ loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
