  • The news was confirmed by German Moreno, founder of the Philippine Walk of Fame

The stars behind the worldwide sensation Kalyerserye will finally be receiving their own star on the Philippine Walk of Fame.

Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, whose love team is popularly known as “AlDub,” as well as Eat Bulaga‘s comedic trio nicknamed “JaoWaPa” composed of Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, and Paolo Ballesteros, will all be receiving their own star at the Walk of Fame located in Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City this December.

GMA News showbiz reporter Nelson Canlas confirmed the news with German Moreno, the founder of the Philippine Walk of Fame.

“Kuya German Moreno proudly shares that he will be including the “stars” of Kapuso artists [Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros],  and Jose Manalo, to name a few, in the Walk of Fame at Eastwood Mall on December 1,” Canlas wrote on his Instagram account; tagging some of the artists on the social media app.

In addition to the Eat Bulaga mainstays, two other celebrities will be honored with their own star on the same day.

Teen heartthrobs Julie Anne San Jose, dubbed as Asia’s Pop Sweetheart, and Jake Vargas will both be receiving their star as well. The two, who are currently in a love team called “JhaLie,” are stars in the afternoon drama Buena Familia.

The Philippine Walk of Fame, also known as the Eastwood City Walk of Fame, began in 2005 as a project headed by German Moreno, known as “Mr. Showman”, and is patterned after the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Celebrities inducted in the Walk of Fame include not only veterans in the industry but also those who have garnered a popular mass appeal.
