MANILA, Philippines – Is the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) really going all the way for Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Mar Roxas?

A Facebook profile purportedly belonging to ARMM Gov. Mujiv Hataman has sought Robin Padilla’s understanding after the actor expressed his sadness over Tawi-Tawi Rep. Ruby Sahali’s claim the region is fully backing Roxas and not Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

“Pasensya po kayo brother Robin dahil ngayon lang naming ramdam ang pagbabago at pagmamahal ng pamahalaan ng tuwid na daan,” the statement read. “Nirerespeto ko kung ayaw mo kay Mar pero sana maunawaan din nyo kung bakit namin sinusuportahan si Mar.”

(“Sorry brother Robin, but it’s only now we have felt the reforms and care of the government with their straight path policy. “I respect your choice if you don’t like Mar but I hope you could also understand why we are supporting Mar.”)

Earlier, Padilla said he is disappointed at Muslim Mindanao for forgetting the many blunders the current administration committed in the region.

“This is sad for Muslim Mindanao,” he wrote. “We have already forgotten the all-out war, Zamboanga (2013 siege) and Mamasapano. Thousands of Muslim Mindanaoans were also forced out of Sabah by the Malaysians back to Tawi-Tawi and Jolo. I have nothing bad to say about Mr. Mar Roxas but I also have nothing good to say about him either. They have already ruled for six years, no poor Bangsamoro has benefited, only those who are in power.”
