- Coco Martin revealed that Vice Ganda thought of quitting showbiz
- The comedian felt so “down” over criticisms being hurled at him
- Their movie together, Beauty and the Bestie, has already earned more than P526 million
Coco Martin revealed to the public that his friend and Beauty and the Bestie co-star Vice Ganda thought of quitting show business at the height of various allegations thrown at the comedian.
Coco shared a conversation he had with Vice as the two joined the victory party of their latest movie together.
[Actually, when we were talking, I felt really sad for him because I felt that he was really so down. In his stories, he told me he wants to let go. He said. ‘I want to rest, go abroad, go shopping, and go on a vacation with my boyfriend],” Coco said.
He was among those who convinced Vice to tread on despite the criticisms by reminding him of how their hard work would pay off.
[During the years when many people were criticizing him, he was down, I really told him, ‘Don’t ever relinquish your throne. We both started with nothing. But at this point, you are already there. Don’t ever allow it to be gone without any care],” he shared.
In response, Vice said that their movie together would not have been a success if not for Coco and the rest of the cast and crew.
Beauty and the Bestie was the top grossing film during the last Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF); earning P526 million in the box office, excluding figures from screenings abroad.
