MANILA, Philippines – Ever been miffed by an inconsiderate driver who insisted on counterflowing through your rightful lane? This video will make your day.

Currently making the rounds on social media is the video uploaded by a certain Jason Vs showing a counterflowing jeepney being forced to reverse as the Montero it met head-on along Quirino Highway in Novaliches, Quezon City last Wednesday afternoon, February 3, refused to let it pass and instead kept moving forward while blaring its horns.

Eventually, the retreating jeepney is forced to go back to its own lane as Jason can be heard reciting its license plate number—TVY 943— and the place where the incident happened for documentation purposes.

In an interview with Radyo DZMM, Jason said counterflowing in Novaliches was commonplace due to heavy traffic.

“Ang Novaliches po kasi sobrang traffic talaga along the way. As usual, yung ginagawa ng mga walang disiplina, mga PUV drivers, mga Jeep or UV express even mga tricycle drivers, ay counterflow po. Kaya po ang nangyayari lalong gumugulo,” he said; adding he wants the video to be disseminated to serve as a lesson for erring drivers.

[“Novaliches has very heavy traffic along the way. As usual, what undisciplined PUV, jeep, UV express, and even tricycle drivers do is to counterflow so they end up making things worse.”]

For his part, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Board Member Atty. Ariel Inton vowed to probe the identity of the driver and the operator so they could be punished especially after Jason pointed out the jeepney also seemed to be operating out of its designated route from Lagro to Blumentritt.
