MANILA, Philippines – Mark Dune Basmayor, also known as Bonebreaker Beast earned the last and much coveted ‘golden buzzer’ in the fifth season of “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) on Sunday, March 13.
Basmayor immensely impressed PGT judges Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin, Freddie M. Garcia (FMG) and Robin Padilla with his flexibility and tricks with his baseball cap.
ABS-CBN News quoted Locsin as telling Basmayor: “Mark, nakakaloka ka naman. Nung una, medyo parang hindi pa ako sigurado, pero nung bandang pahuli, grabe ka.
[Mark, that was crazy. At first, I wasn’t so sure, but as you drew closer to the end, you were amazing.]
She added that Basmayor’s performance wasn’t boring.
As for Vice Ganda, he encouraged the 27-year-old performer from Cabuyao, Laguna to share his talent to the world because it could be his key to give a better life to his family.
Basmayor’s girlfriend is several months pregnant and they wanted to get married before the woman gives birth. He’s doing his best to make ends meet and to help his father who suffered from a stroke yet returned working as a driver after he got better.
Vice Ganda pledged to support Basmayor in financial terms on his wedding.
Former President of ABS-CBN Corporation FMG who was impressed not just by Basmayor’s story but also because of his talent, pressed the ‘golden buzzer’ without hesitation. This earned him a direct pass to the semifinals.
“Mukhang mukha talagang mabibigyan mo ng magandang buhay ang pamilya mo gamit ang talento mo,” Vice added after FMG pressed the ‘golden buzzer’.
