- Ian de Leon saves a child who was hit by a speeding motorcycle
- His mother Nora Aunor is proud of what he did
- The ‘Superstar’ believes her son is a real hero
MANILA, Philippines – ‘Superstar’ Nora Aunor is very proud of her son Ian de Leon for saving a 10-year-old boy who was hit by a speeding motorcycle.
The veteran actress told Push: “Sobrang masaya at proud ako sa ginawa ng aking anak, siyempre bilang isang ina para sa akin isang bayani ang anak ko sa pagtulong na kanyang ginawa.”
[I’m very happy and proud of what my son did. For me, as a mother, my son is a hero because of that.]
The boy’s mother, Kristine Madrigal Sarmiento, took to Facebook to express her gratitude towards de Leon for saving her son’s life.
She wrote: “Does anyone know how to get in touch with Ian de Leon, the actor and son of Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon? I would like to personally thank him for rushing my son Ethan to the emergency room after he was hit by a speeding motorcycle. He was the only one who came to the rescue of a total stranger while all the other people just passed by and looked at my bloody 10-year-old son, who was alone when the incident happened. Such an act of kindness should be emulated by everyone. Not too many good Samaritans around anymore Please help me get in touch with him.
People who read the post praised the actor for his heroic act.
As for de Leon, he downplayed what he did and said anyone would do that if they were in his place.
In the comment section of one of his Instagram posts, he wrote: “Nagkataon lang po siguro na nandun po ako nung nangyari ang accidente, kahit sino naman po ang nasa lugar ko, gagawin rin po ang na gawa ko.. God bless po..”
[It was just a coincidence that I was there when the accident happened. Anyone would do what I did if they were in my place. God bless.]
Not everyone agrees though that whoever was there would have done the same thing. Well, he did. That’s what matters most.
