- Presidential aspirant Rodrigo Duterte has expressed doubt over daughter’s claim
- His daughter Sara earlier claimed she was raped without her family knowing it
- She did not elaborate on the matter as she said it’s immaterial and did not hinder her development as a person
- Sara’s revelation came after her father was badly criticized for the r**e joke he dropped to the crowd in one of his campaign sorties
“Inday can’t be raped. She carries a gun,” says Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in Tagalog as he expressed disbelief on what his daughter Sara, a former Davao City mayor herself, earlier claimed.
Stating this, Duterte cited he had no previous knowledge of his daughter’s claim, further calling Sara a “drama queen” in jest, an article written by Nestor P. Burgos Jr. on Philippine Daily Inquirer disclosed.
In addition, Duterte said he did not want to comment further because it was a personal matter for his daughter.
On April 18, Sara made a revelation before members of the media that she too was a r**e victim but was not offended by her father’s joke about the gang-r**e and murder of Australian missionary Jacqueline Hamill in 1989 at a Davao City detention center.
Duterte, on the other hand, apologized on April 19 for the r**e joke he dropped to the crowd in one of his campaign sorties last weekend, just two days after he flatly refused to do so.
In connection, Sara said she did not know how to defend her father, so she thought of revealing her own experience.
On her Instagram account, she posted that she was a r**e victim but will still vote her father.
In her caption, she wrote: “Day 14. Finally said it. Good Morning.”
Despite her revelation, Sara did not give further details about the incident further noting that it is immaterial and did not hinder her development as a person.
