- Pastor Leo Carlo Panlilio shared his support for Mayor Rodrigo Duterte amid the hidden wealth controversy
- He said he could not believe that the kind of lifestyle the Duterte family has is the lifestyle of someone with Php200 million in the bank
- He recalled how he met Inday Sara and how he admired their simplicity
It seems like there is no more stopping Rodrigo Duterte’s rise to the presidency. No black propaganda can sway his solid supporters anymore.
After the controversial rape joke, PWD pun, endless bad-mouthing, and now, the alleged hidden wealth, with just 10 days before the election, it looks like the tough-talking mayor’s followers are just waiting for the day, ignoring all the demolition jobs against him.
Head Pastor of Destiny Church, Pastor Leo Carlo Panlilio expressed, via a Facebook post, his support for Mayor Duterte amid all the hidden wealth hoopla. He shared a conversation he had with his cousin.
Panlilio said, running for Presidency has already made Duterte realize that ‘he will be the target of attacks, investigations, demolition jobs that will discredit him as a candidate’. So putting his place in Duterte’s shoes, should all the bank account issues were true, Panlilio said being a brilliant lawyer, prosecutor, and mayor for decades, he definitely won’t keep all that wealth under his name, he would use a dummy account probably like that of Jose Pidal and the likes.
Some people say Mayor Duterte just pretended to live a simple life. Panlilio said on this:
“…look at his house? Sabi ng iba nagpanggap lang na mahirap. [Some say he’s pretending to be poor]. For what? You mean all my life mag titiis ako na tumira sa isang simpleng bahay at magpanggap na mahirap, sa loob ng ilang dekada, para kapag akoy 72 years old na eh, masungkit ko ang maging presidente ng Pilipinas [I will suffer living in a simple house and pretend to be poor in decades, so when I reach 72 I can become president of the Philippines]. It does not add up!”.
He then went on to share his experience upon accidentally meeting Inday Duterte, the mayor’s daughter, on April 15, when they were at the parking lot of Shangrila Mactan. He said he saw Inday Sara and her kid, with several other kids and their things jam-packed inside the van, and that recollection made him think, that is not how a family with P200 million should live.
“So, are we saying na Duterte is just pretending to be poor, even denying his kids and grandkids the luxury of at least having a more decent ride because he wants to be president at the age of 72? It does not add up people… It does not add up. One more observation. When i saw that van, that was it… A lone van, no escorts no other cars in sight, just a lone van with Duterte stickers on it. Hindi katulad ng iba dyan na mistulang prosisyon ang kanilang entourage [Unlike others whose entourage look like a procession]. So yan pala ang may 200 million [So that’s how someone with 200 million is like]?”
Pastor Panlilio’s post has gained over 23.000 likes and has been shared over 14,000 times as of this writing.
