- A 10-year-old boy was molested by Pakistani man in Dubai
- The boy claimed the suspect “touched him in a bad way” and kissed him on his cheeks
- The Pakistani denied the accusations against him
A Pakistani male laundry worker has been arrested and is currently being tried for molesting a 10-year-old Filipino boy late last year.
As per a Gulf News story, the suspect went to the victim’s residential unit to deliver their clothes and sexually assaulted the boy, who was with his elder sister at the time. After the incident, the boy took to Facebook and told his father, a 48-year-old civil engineer, that the laundry worker did something strange on him.
After reading his son’s message, the father rushed back home and found him crying hysterically. He called the police to have the suspect arrested.
The boy’s message read: “The laundry man did something strange to me and I don’t like it. Please don’t let him come again. It was very strange.”
During the hearing on Monday, February 6, the boy told the Dubai Court of First Instance what happened:
“He came inside and put the ironed clothes on a chair. I paid him the bill and when he was returning the balance, he behaved indecently with me. He touched me in a bad way. He also hugged me and kissed my cheeks. I felt annoyed and asked him to leave. Then I sent a message on Facebook to my father telling him what had happened and that I do not want to see the suspect anymore. This happened for the first time.”
The 24-year-old suspect denied the accusations against him.
“I did not molest the boy. I did not even touch him. I just went to the flat and delivered the ironed clothes and left,” he told the presiding judge during the hearing.
The court will issue a ruling on the case on February 27, 2017.
