“I want to inspire you. Creativity is contagious, pass it on,” Emily Seilhamer said on her Facebook page Artistry and Upcycling.

Young woman Emily uses her unique skills to craft completely usable items from the most unexpected materials.

One of her works that recently caught the attention of the internet community is her beautiful dress; made from candy wrappers.

As disclosed on her Facebook page, she’s been saving Starburst wrappers diligently for four years to create the dress. After enough was saved, she organized them into colors, ironed them, folded them into links, and made candy wrapper chains.

With the use of elastic thread, Emily was able to sew the links together into a “fabric” to create the dress.

“My husband and I met when he offered me a pack of Starburst a few years before the project started. As his favorite candy he began to save grocery bags full of wrappers for me…” she said.

The candy wrappers!

She intricately wove and sew them together!

Look! Can you imagine how many wrappers this piece took?

Amazing work of art indeed!

The dress had a nice spot next to the gift table at their wedding almost 2 years ago.

And oh, let’s not forget the matching shoes!
