Actor Ronaldo Valdez is now KFC’s Filipino colonel

Veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez is now officially Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC’s) first Filipino colonel.

Valdez was revealed as the fast food chain’s colonel on its official Facebook page on Monday, May 29, beating fellow actors Leo Martinez and Pen Medina who also auditioned for the coveted role to become KFC’s Colonel Harland Sanders’ Filipino counterpart.

“I, the First Filipino Colonel, am here to lead the way for this nation of fried chicken lovers. And I’m also here to take over this KFC PH Facebook page! How y’all feeling about that?” the actor said.

Ronaldo, whose film and television career spans five decades, is shown taking his oath as the colonel.

“I, the Colonel do solemnly swear to fulfill my duties to the best of my ability. I promise to uphold the fresh, hand-breaded quality in each piece of KFC original recipe chicken. Because in KFC, all parts are created equal.

I promise to protect the 11 secret herbs and spices that make my fried chicken unique in all the land. I pledge to push the boundaries of fried chicken innovation and lead the for this nation of fried chicken lovers, ” he said.

Addressing a large crowd, he closes: “So help me, gravy!”
