Film director and writer Jerrold Tarog, is happy to return to familiar territory and work on the second part of an ambitious trilogy (1st is Heneral Luna, 2nd, Goyo, and final movie is yet to be confirmed.)
According to him, their team will be starting to shoot ‘Goyo’ in a couple of weeks.
The film will focus on the heroic struggle of the young General Gregorio del Pilar and the events that unfold soon after the gruesome death of General Antonio Luna.
Gregorio Hilario del Pilar y Sempio (November 14, 1875 – December 2, 1899) was one of the youngest generals in the Philippine Revolutionary Forces during the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine–American War. Because of his youth, he became known as the “Boy General.” He is also known for his successful assault on the Spanish barracks of Cazadores in the municipality of Paombong, his victory on the first phase Battle of Quingua and of course, (spoiler alert: he died) in his last stand at the Battle of Tirad Pass in Ilocos Sur.
“Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” is expected to be released in 2018.
And before we forget, here’s the link to the promised 360° photo of the spot at Tirad Pass where our beloved hero Goyo died:
